Honey yeast bread
I baked. My first bread ever. Oh, how delicious it smelled when I took it out of the oven...
Recipe from Chleby i bunki by Olesiejuk.
It's hard to believe that you can get such great books in supermarkets. I bought mine from Biedronka. I was immediately intrigued by its beautiful graphic design and hard cover; when I looked inside, I knew it was for me. The first recipe I decided on was honey bread. It seemed easy to make and at the same time universal in taste, suitable for both sweet and savory sandwiches. It tastes a bit like challah bread. It has a slightly hard crust on the outside, which softens after a few hours. As for my first adventure with homemade bread, I am very pleased with this bread.
This bread is another suggestion for the 7-day blogging challenge. Today's theme is "Yeast Love", so my yeast bread fits the bill perfectly.
Ingredients:
- 60 minutes wheat flour
- 320 ml warm water
- 2 minutes fresh yeast
- 2 and a half tablespoons olive oil
- 1 and a half tablespoons liquid honey
- 1 teaspoon salt
Mix the crumbled yeast with the water, honey and 2 tablespoons flour. Cover the dough and leave in a warm place for 15 minutes.
Sift the remaining flour and mix with the salt, olive oil and dough. Knead for about 10 minutes. Cover the dough with a cloth and leave in a warm place to rise (about 1-1.5 hours).
When the dough has risen, shape it into a neat loaf. Cut it from the top 2-3 times and place it on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Bake for 40-50 minutes in an oven preheated to 200 degrees. Take it out and leave it to cool on a rack.
